My mother got her first Boxer the yearafter I was born, 1970. He was the middle priced dog at 12 guineas, since she was only looking for a pet that seemed a reasonable choice. We called him Tara and he was the most fantastic family pet, getting into all sorts of scrapes and adventures, and cementing the love of Boxers for my mother and myself as I grew up with him as my guardian angel and learned to walk with his assistance.
Tara died tragically young at 8 years of age but started a life long love of this special breed and our next was a bitch to start showing. Our prefix was chosen and registered in 1978. My mother decided to retire from showing Boxers in the nineties, and went on to show and breed British Shorthair cats, making up many champions and grand champions. I was unable to continue with the Boxers due to ill health and the kennel was kept going with the kind help of other breeders until I was able to pick up the lines, and I became an official partner in the Taranut prefix in 2002. We are very proud to say that our current show team have 6 and 7 generations of Taranut breeding in their pedigrees. |
